BAR BACKS Position Barback Reports To Head Bartender / Bar Manager Summary The barback at our high end beach club and restaurant is an essential team member who supports the bartenders to ensure efficient operation and exceptional customer service. This role requires a proactive, energetic, and detail oriented individual who can thrive in a fast paced, dynamic environment. **Key Responsibilities ** 1. **Stocking and Replenishing ** Maintain a well stocked bar by restocking liquor, beer, wine, mixers, ice, and other supplies. Regularly check inventory levels and communicate any shortages to the bar manager. Ensure garnishes, napkins, straws, and other bar necessities are available. 2. **Cleaning and Maintenance ** Keep the bar area clean and organized at all times. Wash and sanitize glassware, bar tools, and equipment. Dispose of trash and recycling appropriately, maintaining a clean work environment. 3. **Support Bartenders ** Assist bartenders in preparing drink orders and serving customers promptly. Anticipate bartender needs and act quickly to provide necessary supplies. Help in the setup and breakdown of the bar during opening and closing shifts. 4. **Customer Service ** Greet customers warmly and provide excellent service. Assist with customer inquiries and direct them to the appropriate staff if necessary. Help deliver drinks to customers’ tables as needed. 5. **Operational Duties ** Follow all health and safety guidelines to ensure a safe and sanitary environment. Participate in team meetings and training sessions as required. Perform additional tasks as assigned by the head bartender or bar manager. **Qualifications ** **Experience ** Previous experience in a bar or restaurant setting preferred. **Skills ** Strong organizational and multitasking skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast paced environment. **Physical Requirements ** Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs), and perform physically demanding tasks. **Availability ** Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays. **Attitude ** Positive, team oriented attitude with a passion for hospitality and customer service.
